BROADCAST RATINGS REPORT:
o ABC’s broadcast of the 2022 STANLEY CUP FINAL led on Wed. night with a 0.9 and 3.56M viewers. As predicted, the demo was up from the last game on Mon. by a tenth. The Colorado Avalanche won again, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2, making the total game score 3-1.
o CBS aired specials all night, garnering the highest demo, and the overall highest viewership of the night, for THE PRICE IS RIGHT AT NIGHT (0.4/3.58M) despite the celebrity appeal of EVENING WITH TONY BENNETT AND LADY GAGA (0.2/1.65M).
o MASTERCHEF (FOX) remained steady from last week with a 0.4 and 2.24M viewers. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? (FOX) was down slightly in viewership with a 0.3 and 1.51M viewers compared to last week’s 1.68M.
o NBC aired re-runs all night with similar demos across the board, however, earning the highest ratings was CHICAGO FIRE with a 0.3 and 2.74M compared to CHICAGO MED (0.3/2.68M) and CHICAGO PD (0.3/2.43M).
o CW debuted WELLINGTON PARANORMAL to standard ratings of a 0.0 and 210K viewers.

o TBS’s AEW: DYNAMITE led the cable demo with a 0.3 and 878K viewers. AEW was up from last week by a tenth.
o Leading unscripted television was BRAVO’s REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS which was up a tenth from last week with a 0.3 and 1.1M viewers.
o ESPN’s COLLEGE WORLD SERIES coverage placed third with a 0.2 and 1.3M viewers. The Ole Miss Rebels beat the Arkansas Razorbacks 2-0.
o TUCKER CARLSON TONIGHT (FOX NEWS) led cable news with a 0.1 and 2.7M viewers.
o On HGTV, BARGAIN BLOCK led with a 0.1 and 1.3M viewers, beating out HOUSE HUNTERS (0.1/1M).
o Interestingly, SEINFELD made the top 25 on Wed. on NICK-AT-NITE with a 0.1 and 316K viewers.

o PBS will be airing A CAPITOL FOURTH again this year. The show will highlight the musical West Side Story for its 65th anniversary and will be hosted by Mickey Guyton. Musical artists from across the board will be performing in celebration.

o As RIVERDALE comes to an end, THE CW is reportedly eyeing another Archie comics line to adapt: Jake Chang. The show would be created by writers of the NETFLIX series CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA and would most likely fit into the Archie comics world.
o SHOWTIME and BET are developing a new show centered on a rising hip-hop star called THE BOOK OF JOSE. Black-ish and Grown-ishwriter and creator Kenya Barris will be behind the project as an executive producer.
STREAMING UPDATES
· ORDERED
o APPLE TV+ has ordered an 8-episode series “gilded age” series THE BUCCANEERS. After the success of BRIDGERTON and other similar shows, the streaming service has decided to throw its hat into the ring. The show is based on Edith Wharton’s unfinished final novel. With leading cast members already selected, the show will most likely premiere next year.
INDUSTRY NEWS
o Author George R.R. Martin has confirmed that there is a Jon Snow sequel in the works with working title SNOW. HBO nor HBO MAX have confirmed the author’s announcement, which he made on his personal blog.
o NETFLIX has reportedly been making deals with Google and NBCUniversal to lead their new ad-supported platform. No details on when the change would take place have been released. When asked about the platform, a NETFLIX spokesperson commented, “We are still in the early days of deciding how to launch a lower-priced, ad-supported option and no decisions have been made” (Variety).
