RATINGS SUMMARY

  • Better numbers last night with ABC and CBS tying for first place in demo and CBS winning in total people - Fox and CW both had all repeats
  • Under The Dome was by far and away the top show of the night in demo and total people. It was down 7% from last week but still impressive numbers for summer - CBS had all repeats outside of Under The Dome
  • The Bachelorette was second for the night in demo and total people and good news for ABC with the ratings up 6% and achieving a season high in total people. Mistresses continues its slow but consistent ratings increases - this week it was up 9%
  •  NBC was yet again back in fourth place but most of that can be blamed on the shockingly bad Siberia which was comfortably last in the 10pm hour. Such a bad show..... American Ninja Warrior kicked off the night and as previously confessed, I really like this show/format - so good for young males. It was second for the hour in demo and total people (behind The Bachelorette) but it was down 6% from last week. At 9pm, NBC had the premiere of Get Out Alive, the new Bear Grylls show from Electus. It won the hour in demo but was second to a repeat of 2 Broke Girls in total people. It was the highest rated reality premiere this summer but down 18% from the premiere of NBC's Stars Earn Stripes last summer (a shocking show). Now I have to be upfront and acknowledge my man crush on Bear Grylls which softens my view on his new show but I actually quite enjoyed it. It is a combination of Survivor and his old show, Man vs Wild. Not sure they really needed the challenge of contestants drinking a combination of their own urine and mud but apart from that it was ok. The casting I think could have been better but I found the whole show very watchable.
