RATINGS SUMMARY

  • NBC took the night in demo, with The Voice leading the way up 8% from last week’s 3.7 to a 4.0. About a Boy also performed well with a 2.6, up three tenths from the rebroadcast of the pilot last week. Growing Up Fisher equalled last week’s 2.0 (also a rebroadcast of the pilot), and Chicago Fire was up a tenth from last week’s season low 1.8.
  • CBS won the night in total viewers but it wasn’t necessarily good news - NCIS was at a season low 2.4, down from last week’s 2.6. NCIS:LA and Person of Interest both hit series lows of 2.1 and 1.7 respectively.
  • Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD hit a series low on ABC with a 1.7, down a big 23% from its last original episode’s 2.2. The Goldbergs was even with its last original at a 1.6, while Trophy Wife dipped to a series low 0.8. And Mind Games plummeted a massive 45% from its premier last week, down to a 0.6 from a 1.1. Yikes.
  • On Fox Glee was down two tenths to a 1.0 from last week’s 2.2, while New Girl was up a tenth to a 1.5. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was even with last week’s 3.3.

  • From the LA Times: "Walt Disney Co. and satellite TV provider Dish Network have signed a new long-term distribution deal that includes an agreement for Dish to disable its controversial ad-skipping feature for ABC network shows… The agreement marks a breach in the four major networks' united defense against Dish Network and its ad-skipping technology called AutoHop: As part of the deal, Disney said it would drop a lawsuit.”
  • Hosting the Oscars proved to be a HUGE plus for Ellen Degeneres. Her show on Monday hit a 4.8 household rating/11 share, a whole point higher than her previous high (in 2004). She also added 2.7 million new Facebook followers and a half a million likes on her talkshow page. Impressive.
