RATINGS REPORT

  • ABC was tops on Sunday night in demo, with CBS taking the night in total viewers
  • America’s Funniest Home Videos on ABC was up 23% from its last original episode to a 1.6. Once Upon a Time rebounded strongly from last week’s series low 1.7 to a 2.4 this week. Resurrection was down two tenths from its last original to a series low 1.9, and Revenge also hit a series low 1.2, down a tenth from its last original episode.
  • On CBS 60 Minutes was up 27% from last week to a 1.4, and The Amazing Race was up two tenths from last week to a 1.9. The Good Wife was even with last week’s 1.3, and The Mentalist was down two tenths from last week to a 1.2, matching its series low.
  • For Fox Bob’s Burgers nearly doubled last week’s 0.6 with a 1.1 this week. American Dad was up a tenth from its last original to a 1.2, The Simpsons was down two tenths from its last new episode to a 1.5, and Family Guy was even with the 2.1 its last new episode pulled. Cosmos was also even with last week with a 1.4.
  • NBC was preempted in Portland due to the NBA Playoffs, so there will likely be some adjustment. American Dream Builders was up two tenths from last week’s series low to a 0.7. Dateline was up 38% from last week’s 0.8 to a 1.1 this week, while Believe ticked up a tenth from last week to a 1.2. Crisis was also up a tenth from last week to a 1.0.

OTHER NEWS

  • CBS and The CW will begin coordinating their ad sales. They will set their own prices and won’t share proprietary client info, but will “coordinate and share resources” that will “support strategies that bring value to advertisers,” the companies say. The change takes place today, in time for upfronts.
  • Last Week with John Oliver debuted on HBO last night - get a taste of the show HERE and HERE.
  • Donald Sterling, the owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers was caught on tape making some shockingly racist remarks, specifically about former NBA superstar (and LA Dodgers co-owner) Magic Johnson. There has been a huge uproar, with the team staging its own silent protest as it tries to focus on its upcoming playoff series. The NBA will be doing everything in its power to get rid of the 80-year-old Sterling as soon as possible.
  • After reaching an agreement for Comcast to divest nearly 4 million video subscribers, Charter Communications will soon become the second largest cable operator in the US.
