RATINGS REPORT

  • CBS was first for the night in both total viewers and demo, despite Survivor slipping a tenth to a season low 2.2.
  • Criminal Minds was up a string 14% to a 2.5 from the 2.2 it had for its last new episode. CSI fell a tenth of a point to a 1.9 from its most recent episode.
  • On Fox American Idol’s slow decline continued - it was down a tenth from last Wednesday to a 2.1.
  • For ABC The Middle was even with last week’s 1.9, and Suburgatory ticked up a tenth to a 1.6. Modern Family was down 11% from last week’s 3.6 to a 3.2 this week. Mixology was even with last week’s 1/6, and Nashville was up 15% from last week’s season low to a 1.5 this week.
  • Revolution on NBC was up a tenth from its latest new episode to a 1.3. Law & Order:SVU was up two tenths to a 1.7, and Chicago PD was also up two tenths from its last original episode to a 1.6.
  • On CW Arrow was down a tenth to 0.8 from last week, and The 100 was also down a tenth to a 0.6.

OTHER NEWS

  • Discovery have teamed up with Ron Howard to create New Form, whose goal is to create “high-quality, scripted and unscripted programming for today’s digital viewers.”
  • HBO has extended its deal with Deadwood scribe David Milch for another two years.
  • Science Channel and Discovery Channel are teaming up to air the Google Lunar XPrize, the $30 million competition to land a private, unmanned craft on the moon. "The networks will air a miniseries that will follow teams from around the world as they race to fulfill the mission requirements: to land a craft on the surface of the moon, travel 500 meters, and transmit live pictures and video back to Earth. That includes testing, lift-off, and live coverage of the winning lunar landing, which is estimated to take place in 2015.
  • Animal Planet is making a push into scripted territory with the announcement of the Martin Sheen telepic Revenge of the Whale, which purports to tell the Moby Dick story from the whale’s perspective.
