RATINGS SUMMARY

  • A typical Thursday, with CBS taking the night in total viewers and demo despite a downward shift from most of its shows last night.
  • The Big Bang Theory was down four tenths from last week to a 4.9, but still the runaway winner. The Millers was down 12% from last week to a 2.6 (still more than double Parks & Rec on NBC…). Two and a Half Men was even with last week’s 2.6; The Crazy Ones inched up a tenth from last week’s low to a 1.8, and Elementary was down a tenth to a 1.8.
  • The Hell’s Kitchen premier on Fox was down 10% from last season's premier to a 1.9.
  • Idol’s new 9pm timeslot made no difference at all - it matched last week’s series low 2.2.
  • Bad news all around for ABC - Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was down a tenth to a 0.8; Grey’s Anatomy tied a series low with a 2.3, down 12% from last week’s 2.6; and Scandal hit a season low of 2.7, down a tenth from last week.
  • And even worse for NBC, with Community matching last week’s series low 1.0, Parks and Rec down two tenths from last week to a 1.1, Hollywood Game Night tying its season low of 1.0, and Parenthood matching last week’s 1.2.

OTHER NEWS

  • A bit of the buzz on the remaining mid-season series premieres:
    • This review of CW’s upcoming The 100 is extraordinarily positive (once you get past the less positive review of Star Crossed).
    • Sounds like Bad Teacher had to tone down the edge of the original film for CBS
    • Obviously a ton of excitement about the upcoming 24 mini-series. Fox has released a bunch of weirdly ominous teasers, like THIS ONE.
    • Fox’s Gang Related sounds pretty derivative of The Wire, and they’ve hired Ramon Rodriguez from the HBO drama to star.
  • Interesting article HERE on the buying spree of independent production companies
