RATINGS REPORT
- NBC was on top in demo and total viewers behind their NFL coverage. Sunday Night Football had a preliminary 7.6, down 5% from last week’s 8.0.
- On CBS the end of NFL coverage pulled a 6.7. Big Brother had a 2.2, down two tenths from last week. Unforgettable had a 1.1 at 10pm - even with last week - and 1.0 for the season finale at 11pm.
- On Fox American Dad had a 1.3 at both 9pm and 9:30pm, up a tenth from last week.
- For ABC the Miss America countdown show had a 0.6, down three tenths from last years pre-show. The Pageant itself was down 25% from last year’s 2.0 to a 1.5 this year.
CABLE RATINGS REPORT - Thursday, September 11
- Thursday Night Football on the NFL Network (also broadcast on CBS) was the top show on cable on Thursday, pulling a 1.6 at 8.28pm and a 1.5 at 11:09pm, with 3.4 and 2.9 million viewers respectively. The pre-game show had a 0.7 and 1.5 million viewers, and the post-game show had a 0.7 with 1.2 million viewers.
- On Adult Swim Black Jesus held His own against football with a 0.8 and 1.6 million viewers.
- On History Time Machine had a 0.6 with 1.9 million viewers.
- Conan had a strong showing as well on TBS with a 0.6 and 1.2 million viewers.
OTHER NEWS
- We don’t usually report Friday night network ratings, but worth noting that Utopia continues to lose audience at rapid pace - down to a 0.7 on Friday night and pulling LESS than 2 million viewers. That was behind a repeat of Last Man Standing on ABC, and even in demo but a million viewers behind a repeat of Running Wild with Bear Grylls on NBC. Abysmal.
- 2.9% of Americans will cancel their cable TV service in the next 12 months according to a new study. In Q2 2014 the US pay-tv market lost over 300,000 customers.
- Kinetic and FYI are now casting for the second season of Married at First Sight.
- Netflix launched in France this morning, but not with House of Cards. The rights to HoC remain with competitor CanalPlay.
