BROADCAST RATINGS REPORT

RENEWED

  • BET+ renewed its freshman series HAUS OF VICIOUS for a sophomore season. The series follows the lives of “Chantel and Kane, owners of a fashion conglomerate Haus of Vicious.” A release date is yet to be announced.
  • APPLE TV+ renewed the drama/thriller series, THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME for a second season. Season two will be based on the upcoming novel within the series set to release in 2025. APPLE quickly snatched the distribution rights to the sequel after the success of the original book adaptation. The series is also produced by 20TH TELEVISION and Reese Witherspoon’s HELLO SUNSHINE. The showrunners will expand on the story of Hannah Hall, “who must forge a relationship with her 16 year old stepdaughter Bailey in order to find the truth about why her husband mysteriously disappeared.” A release date to be announced soon.

OTHER NEWS

  • MARVEL’s new animated series, THE X MEN broke records as the most viewed animated series on DISNEY+ since 2021 (WHAT IF?...). The debut episode drew 4M+ viewers in its first 5 days, increasing in viewership by 522% since its launch. The revival series paid homage to the 90s cartoon animation style “following a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them.”
  • HBO’s EUPHORIA is delayed indefinitely, allowing cast members to pursue other opportunities. Rumored to be in a film noir style, Levinson described Euphoria’s third season  to explore the character of a recovering addict. With a slew of Emmy awards and star studded cast, EUPHORIA’s upcoming season has high expectations to live up to. However, with cast member Angus Cloud lost, Levinson’s failure from THE IDOL, and the original fan base growing into adulthood, the showrunners may struggle to make a successful third season. It is rumored that the series will experience a time jump to follow the high school characters into adulthood, mirroring their Gen Z target audience. A release date is yet to be finalized, with plans to hopefully launch in 2025.
